A few more pictures from the hair salon
These pictures are from GM's camera, at the hair salon...
Leesa with Liam - she and GM did a great job keeping him happy while I got my hair cut...
Here is Lisa entertaining Liam in his bath seat. He LOVES this seat - I have no idea why, but he's happier sitting in this than he is in his bouncy chair or rocker - go figure! GM wisely decided to bring the seat with us today... it certainly came in handy, and Leesa amused everyone in the salon by sitting down and entertaing Liam - look how happy he is!
I love this picture - Liam peeking over my shoulder...

Liam's First Photo Shoot
Here are the pictures from Liam's first ever professional photo shoot. We went with Aunt Leesa, Aunt Jill, Grandma Roo, GM (my Mom) to the Picture People to have a photo shoot with Liam, Eric and Evan. This was after my long awaited hair cut, where I lost close to 10 inches of length. The pictures turned out great, and I am thrilled with the end result of my haircut - the stylist really understood thick hair and did a great job. I told her it felt like somebody else's hair on my head. The stylist said I had enough hair for 4 people, and she offered one of the other clients some of my hair - it was funny... I think the woman seriously considered the offer (haha!)
Liam also gets a gold star for putting up with the chaos all day... from hair salon to photo shoot to dinner and back to the photo place. What a great baby, and what a relieved Mom!
I'll post the pictures with Grandma Roo, Eric and Evan when Leesa emails them to me.
My new hair...

Me kissing Liam... aww...
This is my favorite - My GM, me, and Liam...
Another one of us... Mom didn't want to be in the pictures but Leesa talked her into it. I am so glad she did! I think she looks great and I will truly treasure these pictures!

Liam and the White Noise
A quick post about the magic of white noise... and we have Kelly and Kaylen to thank for this tip! Yesterday in the car Liam started to fuss and cry in the carseat, so I turned the radio up very loud on a static channel. Much to my surprise he calmed down and fell asleep. I only had to leave the noise on for a few minutes. I had to do it again on the way home - same effect, it was amazing. I am so happy to have a way to calm the baby down when we drive!
Heartened by this success, I used a hair-dryer to settle him for his nap last night... and it worked! Those of you who have heard of my travails with the Incredible No-Sleeping Baby must understand how wonderful this is. I did it again this morning with his dreaded morning nap - this kid hates to sleep in the mornings! He's out cold right now, its great. I think I'll have to get a white noise CD because it's probably not good to use my hairdryer so much!

Today Mom gets her hair cut!
Well folks, the big day has finally arrived - I am getting my hair chopped off today! No, not a pixie cut or anything that drastic, but I've had very long hair for a while now and I am ready for a change. Not only is it too much of a pain to wash, comb out, and dry now that I have a little one, but little hands like to grab long hair and pull. Ouch!
Below are some pictures of what I look like right now - I have not had a haircut since I was 5 months pregnant - eek! I think it was July or August 2006. Forgive how frizzy it looks - I took a nap with my hair wet and then blew it dry without styling.

Because I have so much hair, this is what I usually look like - the librarian bun!
Wish me luck!

Picture Post
Here are some recent pictures of Liam with Mom and Dad, and in his cute cowbody overalls from Aunt Leesa...
Playing Catch-up
It's been a while since we posted! I keep forgetting that we have a blog. Let's see... quick re-cap of the past week... Liam had some issues with driving in the car last week, he was extremely fussy and one day had a complete melt-down - I had to cancel my chiropractor appointment and turn around and go home. Poor little guy. He hasn't been out in the car since his last melt-down, so I hope it was just temporary! We'll find out tomorrow when we go visit his Aunts and cousins so I can get a haircut and he can have his picture taken with his cousins.
Liam is getting very big now - I can't wait for his 4 month appointment when we find out his length and height. He's in 6 months clothes - what a long baby. People keep telling me that he looks like a little person now because he's filling out. He is still extremely alert and active - I think he'll always prefer to be up and checking out the world rather than sleeping.
The past few weeks I have been planning our vegetable garden - can't wait for spring! The previous owners of our house had a formal garden, and I am going to replace much of it with veggies... all organic of course. Hopefully Liam will tolerate being outside and will enjoy gardening with me... I can't wait for the weather to be better so he can be outdoors more; this cold weather has kept us in and I am definitely a little stir-crazy.
On Saturday we had 12 people over for a grill party, and Liam loved it - I kept trying to get him to take a nap, but he was very fussy until I took him back down to all the people. It still amazes me how much he enjoys crowds at our house - he'll let people he doesn't know hold him and he just looks around. He finally did crash and slept for 4hrs straight, which always makes me happy. Yesterday (Sunday) we got 6 inches of snow, and stayed in - I am also sick, which doesn't help. Liam was pretty crabby but in the late afternoon I finally got him to sleep and he slept very well until this morning (with the usual waking to nurse, of course). Fortunately he has not caught whatever bug I have - yay for nursing!

Picture of Liam & Mom
Here's a picture of Liam and Mom - Mom is sporting an Ergo carrier (www.ergobabycarrier.com). Perfect for those babies that like to be toted around!
Welcome!
Liam and I (Mom) decided to start a blog a) to entertain ourselves during those long days at home making and changing dirty diapers, and b) to keep you - our sainted family and cherished friends - informed about our daily lives. Nothing is too trivial for us to share, so we hope you check back often!
