Grandpa's April Visit

Grandpa came by for lunch, and afterwards he played with Liam

Grumpy boy!

Can we play basketball, Grandpa? Please?

Hi Mommy!

That night we had some silly fun - Liam in Daddy's '93 Air Jordans (yes, he kept them this long!)

Hmm, this is harder than it looks

I'm just like Daddy!

New sweater from GM

GM knitted Liam a beautiful new sweater using some hand-dyed Pumpkin Spice wool I had tucked away. Here are some action shots!

Look! A bird!

Time to play basketball!

Let's go, Mommy!

A fine day for cream cheese...

Today was a fantastic spring day - temps in the 70s - and we spent the whole afternoon outside. On our way out through the garage Liam stopped by his favorite spot - the recycle bin - and grabbed himself a toy... a cream cheese container. He played with it for several hours. I Am Not Making This Up. Best toy ever - I even got to rake up a ton of leaves and do some weeding! Here are some pics from our day out:

Hey Mom, check out my new toy!

Look, I can put it on my head! That's Summer in the foreground, and our guesthouse behind him.

The only thing more exciting than a cream cheese container is seeing a bird in the sky... whoa!

Giant pile of leaves!

More birds in the sky - he was pointing with both fingers and squealing, but I missed the shot... ah well! He loves anything in the sky... birds, planes... the moon...

Note: if you have good eyes or if you click on the pictures to see them larger, you'll notice the dirt on Liam's mouth. Because, he likes to taste dirt - I think to get my goat. It takes all my Mommy patience to act like I could not care less or say, "Mmmmm dirt!" The first time he did this I (predictably) said "NOOO! Don't eat that!" and if you know toddlers, you know what happened next... yup, he could not shovel it in fast enough. Now that I pretend not to care he realizes all by himself that dirt tastes gross and he moves on to other things. Like chewing on sticks, because hey if the dogs like it - it must be good!

How toddlers are like cats...

They both like to chase laser pointers! We were at Mac and Cassi's for Easter dinner, and before we left Tony broke out his laser pointer... when none of the cats wanted to come out to play, we noticed that Liam was fascinated...

Hey! I caught it!

Darn it, come here little red light...

Hey, how did it get up on Mommy's leg?

Bonus picture: Oh, not the paparazzi again! This is getting old!

Is there something on my face?

Liam is really enjoying feeding himself lately, which means lots of messes for Mommy and Daddy to clean up. Here he is enjoying some yogurt and some apple sauce. I am starting to think it would be easier to feed him in the backyard, then I can just hose him off when he's done! Oh well that's why we have dogs, right? They clean the floor, the highchair, the baby... :)

New Toddler Containment Device

We recently had a new toddler containment device installed to keep Liam away from the temptations of the road. You can see he's fascinated by it already!

Oh, sweet freedom! How I long for thee!

Darn, the warden is watching...

Let's go make nice with the camera lady.

Toddler successfully contained!

Now I shall charm you with my long eyelashes...

I've been eating dirt! Yum!

Hmm, leaves are not as delicious...
