How long has it been?

I'll tell you how long it has been... since I last updated:
  • Liam crawls EVERYWHERE. He's a fast little bugger.
  • He has SEVEN teeth, with #8 on its way.
  • He can pull up to standing and crawl up onto things... yikes!
  • He loves to eat chicken soup, lentil and barley soup, baked beans, Purely Os (organic kind of Cheerio), and shredded meats.
  • He does NOT like slimy foods... so far avocado and fresh melon have been projectile vomited onto me immediately upon taste.
  • His favorite toy is a $5 Fisher Price stackable plastic donut toy. You probably had one when you were a kid. It is timeless, and apparently good for hours of entertainment.
  • His next favorite toys are an empty container of Quaker Oats, an empty bottle of tonic water, and a tupperware container. The expensive Haba toys made in Germany that Mommy bought? Booooorrriiinggg!
  • At his 9 month appointment, he weighed 18lbs 1oz and was 29" long. He has dropped on the weight curve, but is a very healthy and active little boy.
  • He squeals and babbles... his most often repeated "word" is something that sounds like "UP!" But he says it at random times, so I think he just likes the sound of it.
That's all I can think of for now... as you can see, we've been busy! I promise, more pictures later.

Long overdue update...

It has been a while since I last posted - it has just been a busy summer! Let's see - recent Liam news - this morning he figured out how to use his arms and knees together to crawl - it was so cute! He usually does the "scoot and flop" to get to where he wants to go, but this morning he was able to move around on all fours. Of course it didn't take too long for him to get frustrated and go back to scoot & flop, but he's on his way to being much more mobile!

And Tuesday night my Mom came over - and Liam pushed himself into a sitting position from his belly! I was so surprised that I scared him by squealing and clapping loudly. He did it again a little later. Too bad his Daddy wasn't here to see it!

Well I have TON of pictures to share from this month. Let's get started with some adorable Daddy and Baby pictures...

He eats! At last!

I was having some cereal for breakfast, and Liam was very interested in my spoon and bowl. I let him taste my spoon, which had soy milk on it, and he wanted more - that surprised me, because usually when he tastes anything other than breastmilk he gets all disgusted. So I thought what the heck, and went to get him some sweet potatoes (I have a few jars of baby food from Whole Foods that I try on him once in a while). Well, he gobbled up the whole jar! Adam and I could not believe it - up until now he's rejected all food, and today he eagerly snarfed down a whole jar! I knew it would happen eventually - it is just a thrill when you finally see it. Yay Liam!

Crawling to Mom... slowly...

Liam crawling... sloooowwwlllyy across the bed... too slow for a video camera, but just right for a series of photos (and you don't have to listen to me squealing "c'mon baby, you can do it!!!")

Starting out...
Getting excited but not going anywhere...
There we go, that's progress!
Whew, this crawling stuff is hard!
More squggling on our belly...

Mom? You still there?
The final push...
Get that rear in gear!
Whew! What a push from behind!
Hi Mom, I made it! Can we do something else now?

Cute new diaper

Liam got a new diaper in the mail today - check it out, I love the buggy print fabric! It's a Mutt fitted.

Bathtime Baby in his new tub

GM bought a tub for Liam so we could bathe him more easily (thanks, GM!) He hated it at first, but now that he can sit up on his own he spends his time splashing and playing with his tub toys. After this bath, Adam was soaked because Liam splashed so much! It was great to see him finally enjoy a bath!

Adam playing with Liam and the toys:

Liam splashing the crab toy... you can see the water droplets flying!

Liam going after the blue octopus:

Check out all the water on the floor... and you can't see Adam very well, but his clothes are soaked!
