Unfinished projects

I took a picture of all my unfinished projects, thinking it would motivate me to finish them. Or just one of them. Well it hasn't worked yet, but here they are!

From the left - a striped wool sweater I am knitting for Liam, funky purple wool pants that I knitted (they've already been worn, I just need to make the drawstring so they stay up), the material is for aprons, the beautiful fall colored wool is for more long pants, the blue blanket is a cotton crochet project that was started while I was pregnant (ever tried to crochet a blanket? It's boring!), and the two plastic bags contain surprises for friends. Phew.

Give me some time, I'm sure I'll have more unfinished projects to add to the list.

Fall 2007 in Pictures

As I am behind in posting pics yet again, here is a collection of recent fall pictures.

Posing with pumpkins...

Hi Mom, want a leaf?

Look how tall I am not!

Funky wool pants that I knitted for Liam. Clearly he loves them!

Walking with Alligators

Liam walked today, with his alligator walker... he shocked the pants off me! We were sitting in the sunroom, he reached up and grabbed the handle of the walker, stood up, and off he went! He seemed as surprised as I was the first time. After that, he kept wanting to try walking. It was awesome.

Fall at last, it feels like fall at last!

We woke up today to chilly temperatures and had to dress Liam in some of his new winter clothes. Check out our cutie! His first pair of shoes also arrived in the mail today, so he's kitted out from head to toe.

Caught in the act with Mom's lens cap!

He was NOT in the mood for pictures... turns out he was just super hungry - after this picture he gobbled up a big dinner!

Afternoon de-light

Just a few pics of Liam taken in the afternoon light, the same day he was racing around with his sock.

Happy little sock-eater... you can see all 7 teeth!

Our little sock monkey

Liam found a new toy last week... one of his socks! He played with it for about half an hour... he squealed with delight and raced around the house with the sock either in his mouth or in his hand.

At last... PICTURES!

Here are some pictures from the last few months...

Another Liam Update

Liam is now about 10 1/2 months old... here are his latest antics...

  1. He still has 7 teeth, I think 2 more are slooowly coming in. Slowly. Did I say SLOWLY?
  2. He crawls at 100mph and pulls up on everything, especially my pant leg
  3. He says "Dadadadadadada" and "MumMumMum" indiscriminately, but he does say "MumMumMum" when he is upset and only stops when I pick him up. So, it either means "Mommy I need you!" or more likely, "Pick me up, dammit!"
  4. He eats a lot now, although he really hates anything resembling baby mush, so meals consist of him eating whatever I'm eating... cut into tiny bits. His favorite food right now is home-made chicken soup.
  5. He can pull his plastic donuts off the, uh, stand (I am not sure what terminology to use for the stackable donut toy)... and he can put the donuts back on. Okay, not in order or anything, but it is still cute.
  6. He really likes to lift up shirts and poke belly-buttons. He also gets mad if he's pinching me while nursing and I make him stop. I know! How mean of me to not let him pinch me like that!
  7. Now that it is fall, we go for long walks every evening with Daddy, and enjoy the beautiful weather. Liam props his feet up on the stroller handle and enjoys the scenery. He likes watching hawks overhead and the telephone wires next to the road.
  8. He likes to bang his toys together, put toys into things and then retrieve them, and put toys on the dog. Pepper really likes him and will tolerate lots of baby abuse... only problem is that she loves to lick his face... as he happily opens his mouth... GROSS.

How long has it been?

I'll tell you how long it has been... since I last updated:
  • Liam crawls EVERYWHERE. He's a fast little bugger.
  • He has SEVEN teeth, with #8 on its way.
  • He can pull up to standing and crawl up onto things... yikes!
  • He loves to eat chicken soup, lentil and barley soup, baked beans, Purely Os (organic kind of Cheerio), and shredded meats.
  • He does NOT like slimy foods... so far avocado and fresh melon have been projectile vomited onto me immediately upon taste.
  • His favorite toy is a $5 Fisher Price stackable plastic donut toy. You probably had one when you were a kid. It is timeless, and apparently good for hours of entertainment.
  • His next favorite toys are an empty container of Quaker Oats, an empty bottle of tonic water, and a tupperware container. The expensive Haba toys made in Germany that Mommy bought? Booooorrriiinggg!
  • At his 9 month appointment, he weighed 18lbs 1oz and was 29" long. He has dropped on the weight curve, but is a very healthy and active little boy.
  • He squeals and babbles... his most often repeated "word" is something that sounds like "UP!" But he says it at random times, so I think he just likes the sound of it.
That's all I can think of for now... as you can see, we've been busy! I promise, more pictures later.
